Linking to Library Resources

Introduction

Did you find an article in one of our library databases that you would like to share with your students or your instructor through Moodle? Or maybe you'd like to embed a great Films on Demand video in Moodle. This guide is here to help!

Library resources use a persistant link (also know as a permalink, static link or stable link) to take users directly to the correct article or film. You know that URL up in the address bar? That one won't work like that! Check out the correct way to do it here and if you need help let us know.

There are also several video tutorials in this guide to help you learn how to effectively search our library resources. We'd be happy to help you find resources in person, over chat or email as well.

Best Practices

You might be wondering if it is better to have students search for a library resource or link them directly to it. After all, we want students to be able to use the library, right? A good rule to follow is to simply link to a resource when you have a specific article you want students to read. All it takes is one typo in an article title or author's name to make an article impossible to locate.
