The EBSCO Discovery Service is a great place to start your research for a paper as the EDS searches approximately 88 databases. The EDS is easy to find as it is the first search bar you will find on our website:

Once you've entered your search term...

Once you've entered a search term, you may be asked to sign in-use your Penn email & password! You should then see a screen similar to this one:

I've highlighted the number of results and a quick way we can narrow them down. The circled "limit to" tools can be extremely helpful. Try limiting your results to peer-reviewed, full text, and within the last five years!

Advanced Search

An advanced search is a great next step in the process of narrowing results. You can select a field such as title to search for a term within and use the Boolean operators AND, OR, and NOT within a search (you'll typically want to use AND more than the others). For more details on these types of searches, please feel free to email me, Sam, anytime! Another option is to limit your search to a certain discipline such as "Business & Management" or "Psychology".
